I'm taking 2400 mg for peripheral neuropathy. Is it better to take 1200 mg two times a day or 800 mg three times a day?
Three times a day is better with this medication.
Neurontin has a pretty short half-life. Go with the 800x3 for a more even effect. Good luck
Being that gabapentin has a pretty short half life, split it up into more doses (3 times a day vs 2) and you should get a longer, more even effect, also this will minimize side effects, which tend to occur when you take larger doses at one time. It you take one of your doses before bed it will help with neuropathic pain during the night as well.
I am also prescribed by the doctor to take it 3 times a day.
