These are complex very specific compounds in which the active ingredient is embedded. One presumably is predictably taken apart over the first three or four hours by your body's digestion. The other is likely taken apart by enzyme digestion taking place later in gut transit. For specific names of these compounds search for the package insert for physicians. The answer there will require a high degree of chemical and medical knowledge to truly understand.
