Thank you so much. answers are helpfull. This young woman is getting the Rxs from several different physicians and none know what the other is prescribing. She is also getting Vicodin on the street. She has 3 small children and is virtually in a semi comatose state most of the time. She has become violent and aggressive and recently was jailed for domestic abuse against her mother. She punches her children (ages 3, 5 and 7) and has knocked her 85 year old grandmother around. She sells her food stamps at half value and buys her Vicodin on the street. Because she is on Medicaid, tMedicaid is paying for her prescribed drugs. I am a family friend and the saftey of the children is at risk. Can the combination of these drugs cause this kind of mind altering behavior??
If these meds were not prescribed to him/her, and buys them off the street, he/she risks ingesting what he/she thought was adderal or thought was vics, and/or possible arrest. Medically speaking (I am FAR from being a doctor) the main risk is overdose, drug interaction, addiction, and the damage these meds may cause to the brain. Your friend is messing with the wiring and receptors in the brain. Imagine cross wiring or interfering with a delicate part of an electronic device... and the wiring was all wrong and it misfired. The ones that concern me the most are the adderal mixed with the anti depressant, and the xanax to come down. Also, the high amounts of APAP in the vicodin are very harmful to the liver and other vital organs when used over an extended period of time. You didn't give much detail, I'm only assuming these meds were not prescribed to your friend.
