... gets worse. I have a prescription for flexeril but it doesn't help. I also get frequent Charley horse cramps in my calves. They have been so bad that they have lasted up to 30 minutes and have awakened me from a dead sleep. I just want relief. Has anyone found anything that helps. I have tried everything!
Greetings. When you say "everything" does that also include core work via yoga related stretching, acupuncture, dietary causes for cramps including improper hydration, etc.? Meds will help ease some of that you list, however very few will relax the muscles so much that they cannot cramp at all.
I have had spasms in my legs and back for years. I eat walnuts now to help with the leg spasms and I take Magnesium pills along with a Vitamin C pill to help it dissolve effectively. You should not take Magnesium without it. You will be able to tell the difference. You may want to get your levels tested for Magnesium, Vitamin B12, and Calcium. You CAN overdue it with Magnesium. So be careful. I also take Vitamin D3 and B12 for stress. Yes, as you well know, pain causes stress and stress causes pain. They do not like each other.
