d pain . on occasion, it feels feverish. the swelling and numbness can extend up to my knee. I lost my job the day after my fracture and cant afford to go to an Orthopedic doctor. What can happen if I cant get it treated? Will I lose my foot? Im terrified
You need to get into see the Dr. They will take payments. You cant afford to mess around. There is a slim possibility of losing the foot or at least losing the use of it if there is nerve damage. If you had coverage with your employer, you should still be covered under COBRA. Look into applying for Medicaid or state assistance to help you with medical bills. If you are unemployed, you will likely qualify. Work with the Dr and ask about making payments. Tell them what your situation is. You may not work again if you dont get that taken care of!!! Go to a catholic hospital as they wont turn you away for not being able to pay. Since it is Friday, and with these symptoms, I would recommend that you be seen in the ER as this could very well be an emergency if there is a blood clot or if there is osteomyelitis (infection). You cant afford to NOT go!! Go today!
