I've had an awful argument with my husband and parked in a Walmart parking lot crying. A cop drove by and I remembered my dad leaving this in my car by accident (it's his script). I don't want to get in trouble for having this in my vehicle.
Although Meloxicam (it belongs to the drug class nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents-NSAID) can only be obtained with a prescription, it is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
So if you are able to explain how it got in your car and provide evidence (if required) that your father takes it, I do not think you will get in trouble plus as I have informed you it is not a controlled substance.
I'm more concerned about having such a bad argument in a car. It's never safe to be so emotional when driving. Even being a passenger, just keep it inside until you get home.
It's easier said than done, I know but see what can result?
If the meds were in a script bottle with his name on it, why not just have him call your father to verify what you are saying?
It shouldn't be a problem.
I hope you have resolved your argument.
Life is too short!
