Also I was trying to research on this condition to find if it get worse. Right now the curvature is almost 70% I was told that is bad and I can't imagine it getting worse. I was in a bad car accident a few years ago which almost took my life and broke many many bones and including my left femar where a titaninium steel rod was placed there.,also both knee caps were torn off and replaced which I was in surgery over 8 hours. Every rib broken and face bones too. It was not long after that I found I had all over body nerve damage, which put my pain scale over the moon!I realized too that my tolerence for pain was much more than the average person because I had suffered for so many year with crippling back pain that at one time I thought I would end up in a wheel chair for the rest of my life. which so far Thank God I am not, but I had almost become a custom to believing that was just the way I was going to live, then a wonderful doctor and surgeon diagnosed me and told that no , that is not the way you have to feel and live your life at that time I was already 47 years, at that time. Of course I am not use to taking strong meds but I am glad to have them in my life now!! I seriously grateful to be almost pain free, not completely and I can live with what I have compared to where I was. I am curious about the drugs I will be taking and what to look for as far as my spine, whether it will stay basically the same or get worse. I would Love to hear from anyone who knows even a little about what I am going through. Thanks!
Have they told you if it can be fixed? How do you feel now, with the meds? Its pretty hard to say what to expect for you, except you should expect the drs to give you appropriate pain meds. Back pain can really be a problem to get rid of. Hopefully they will be able to control your pain enough so that you can move about your home, comfortably.
Oh my, well I do understand some of what you are going through. Our member Kaismama says a lot of good things and yes you should expect your Doctor to give you appropriate medicines for your pain. You must tell the Doctor where it hurts and how much and she should answer all of your questions. I have found that you must not be shy the Doctor is there to help you. Yes you can have a decent life you will still have some pain but you should be able to do a lot of things. What I find difficult now that I got a pacemaker is going on trips by changing the usual routine that I have it can bring out more pain symptoms. I was in a car accident too but it was not as bad as yours I just hurt my back and neck had to have fusion in my neck and without my medicines it would bring me to tears.
I do remember that some curvature of the back can be fixed but you should not have to be in pain. If you don't have yet you should get a pain Doctor. They can be a life saver.Well welcome here and good Luck to you.
