Zyprexa is a serious medication and in appropriate use it may cause a lot of side effects, you should not allow to child to take it
Zyprexa is an antipsychotic that's mainly used to treat schizophrenia, mania, bipolar disorder, and severe agitation due to bipolar disorder and/or schizophrenia. I don't think he would be taking this to get high because it generally makes a person feel shaky, dizzy feverish and it may cause suicidal ideations in some people.Add to this that it can cause chest pain, eratic heart beats, dry mouyh, vomiting, joint pain and back pain. I really see no reason why he would want to be taking this med unless 1) he hopes it will help him gain weight, which it does do to some people OR 2) someone may have given it to him and told him it was something else. My advice would be to simply ask him. Tell him what it could possible do to him and what it's actually used for. By the way, advise him not to drink alcohol if he insists on taking the med as it can cause the central nervous system to shut down. Good luck with this. Hope this helped.
