I'm already in a lot of pain and also a type one diabetic. If this drug causes more pain than I won't be able to function. Im afraid to start taking this drug! Any suggestions?

I feel for you! Debilitating pain and chronic fatigue are tough issues to deal with. I know because I have both and many other issues.
Although I'm not familiar with this medication my advice when offered a new medication is always will the side effects and cost measure up to the result you will receive. I have found after 15 years of trying new meds is there isn't a miracle cure.
That does not mean you won't find some relief with medications. It just means beware and research before introducing new meds into your into your routine.
This drug might help. You can always give it a trail run and see if you like it.
I hope this advise helps. It does not directly answer your question but it's food for thought.

Everyone responds differently to medications as well as how much value one puts in finding the perfect medication versus finding the best way to live as you are.
Also, flares from other illnesses can also cause your Lyme disease to persist longer - it's good to talk it through with your doctor don't you know the risks of your various options.
