And how often,in the beginning? Was it up to you or him when they were dropped and when? And what were the facts , that established these drops? ie:Were you sick? did you just want to drop? did he just walk in,in a bad mood and drop you 1/2 pill 4mgs at a time? Did you say,Doctor Im ready to go down a 1/4 a pill? Was your blood pressure way to high?Or was it a mutual thing, that you and he discussed, and decided it was time to make and adjustment?
Neither my ds. nor counselor pushed me 2 taper, I think my dr. mentioned it about my 3rd visit, but almost in passing, I think he was very new 2 both being a dr and subs. he is my 2nd subs dr, 1rst dr. moved out of state. I have grown 2 respect him alot as he listens 2 me, and he may not always b + about subs treatment, he tried 2 figure it out w/me and never assumed that i or any other subs patient was a junkie, i have heard some horror stories about other subs drs. Robert mentione that pat. often comfortable at 2 mgs or even 1mg, I actually learned more from him and mpvt, than my dr. i trust them more 2 as far as treatment goes. i started 2 feel like i should taper when i really 'felt' my subs instantly instead of gradually after 2 hours, had trouble peeing like when i was on 2 many lortabs-and when my blood pressure went high enough i needed meds 4 that. i dropped 4 mgs the 1rst taper, i was on 12 mgs then am at .5 now. i stayf at lower dose 4 at least 4 weeks, then came down 2 more mgs. then stayed at that 4 4 weeks and then split dose 4mgs n am, 2 mgs n early afternoon. after 4 weeks, dropped aft. dose. continued splitting and then dropping aft. dose aft. 4 weeks and felt fine the whole time. Robert has a quicker taper formula 4 anyone interested.
