my boyfriend has this problem that when he swallows he say's that it does not go down all the way and he can feel it. Than he starts to hiccup and literally a bubble comes up with the food that did not even go to his stomach.
Eat slower, take smaller bites and chew completely, chase it down with water. That should help.
He could have little pockets in his esophagus, this can catch food. So billy is right, eat slower and drink some. If it continues he should see a dr. Don't talk when he's eating, keep his head in a neutral position, not tilted back or he can tilt it a little to bring his chin down toward his chest.
