... about 1p at school. She was on 25 mg in am and 5mg last month and had been for the last year. She now weighs about 86 lbs and her symptoms started to increase so we tried the 30 mg in am. Her 6th science teacher states that she isn't focusing in her class which is about 11:15 or so. I wanted to request that the Focalin in the morning be increased but I now know that 30mg is the maximum dose made. I am wondering if we should try having her continue taking the 30 mg dose but move up her afternoon dose to 10mg and have her take it about 12noon, depending on exactly when a class break is. What do you think? Thanks for your help

Shark The best thing you can do for her is a office visit The doctor is the only one that can change these meds... both at school for the nurse and make sure nothing else is going on with her... the dose does get changed for many but sometimes they may think of adding something else ... Good luck to both of you hope all works out... CHUCK1957
Shark Yes this is done often to help match class's with medications with as many kids that have to use this it sometimes does have to be adjusted due to the medication not lasting long enough through the school day.Its working with the school and the doctor to see what works out the best for your daughter this is quite common or the doctor finding something else to add or change to help her...
