... don't throw away your 5 mgs you have. well he decided to give him another dose of 10 4 hours after taking morning dose. My question is - why would he not try 5 before just doubling it? Is that the norm and do I have the right as a parent to say NO, lets try 5 first or am I just going to make the dr mad?
Most doctors wouldn't mind if you suggested that but to be honest your child is at such a low dose the chances of it working like it should is slim so that's probably why the doctor increased the dose. Try not to come off as a controlling mother but just ask the doctor if it would be better to stay at a lower dose and take that lower dose before upping the medication or if he would just suggest taking a higher dose all together do to the fact that it's not working. If the Focalin doesn't work I would highly recommend Adderall which I started when I was young. I still take it to this day and it changed my life. I started getting good grades. I could focus and concentrate on things I wasn't able to. I could actually sit still. Just a suggestion though. Good luck to you. I hope your child gets the help he needs! Hope this helps!
