I've been on Fluvoxamine instant release for about 7 weeks. I was at 125 mg but doc wanted to raise to 150 mg so we switched to Fluvoxamine Extended Release tablets since I couldn't sleep at night on the instant release. Since changing, I'm more irritable, agitated, and anxious. Anyone else have this reaction? Not sure if it's related to the extended release change, but that's what I feel. Thanks everyone
Just my own experience but when ever I switch or start new meds my symptoms get worst. All the symptoms you described. It usually takes 2 -4 weeks to level out. If you can tolerate the side effects for that long. Sometimes the docs will prescribe a anti-anxiety med until the side effects lessen. Always talk to your doc about options.
Wishing you the Best.
Hi if things haven't improved on this medication after 4 weeks, then an increase is a good idea. You shouldn't have to suffer for 7 weeks like this! You may find some stability with the extended release. I switched from immediate release to XL (a different medication, but works similarly) & i lost the anxiety, agitation & felt more relaxed. Something to consider?
Called my doctor and plan of action is to decrease down to 125mg instant release. He mentioned the irritability and agitation could be related to the increase in dosage.
