Pregnancy C - It isn't known whether or not it is safe because there haven't been tests on Pregnant Humans.
It warns of Teratogenic Effects. Here is the definition of that :
Teratogen: Any agent that can disturb the development of an embryo or fetus. Teratogens may cause a birth defect in the child. Or a teratogen may halt the pregnancy outright. The classes of teratogens include radiation, maternal infections, chemicals, and drugs.
Fluticasone Pregnancy Warnings
Fluticasone for inhalation has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have revealed evidence of teratogenicity when corticosteroids are administered orally or potent steroids are applied topically. Fluticasone has been shown to be teratogenic when administered subcutaneously at high doses to mice. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Fluticasone is only recommended for use during pregnancy when there are no alternatives and benefit outweighs risk.
Fluticasone Breastfeeding Warnings
Because of low systemic concentrations of inhaled fluticasone, it is doubtful that clinically significant amounts would be ingested by and affect a nursing infant.
Caution is recommended. Excreted into human milk: Unknown Excreted into animal milk: Yes The effects in the nursing infant are unknown.
