I am very fair skinned with freckles and of Irish ancestry. At age 50, I have just been prescribed fluorouracil for precancerous/dry skin on my face and hands. A couple of years ago, I had a few small spots on my back frozen off, as I also had today. My doctor said I could do the treatment for two weeks, let it heal, and then repeat treatment and healing process. She said doing it gradually might be better for me and that most people who split the process find that the second time round isn't as bad as the first. Or I could wait until the end of the summer and do it all at once if it doen't become too irritated.
Fluorouracil or 5FU, what I call it, is best used in split doses, especially on your face. I personally wouldn't treat all of mine at once because I have so many, I've had a few frozen off, also. But since you only have to treat face and hands, like I said, space out face and if you like, treat all of the lesions on your hands together depending on how many.
I am also, blue eyes, fair skin, freckles... Irish ancestry..I am using this on my face 2x daily for 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.. for 2 months for Actinic Keratoses. I am hoping this works so I don't have lazer on my face. As a child, we played outside all day and nobody knew the dangers of sunburns..I am 60 now and I have red spots all over my face..
