You should see your doctor as soon as you can to make sure there is no serious reason why you need to use an enema.
Key measures to prevent constipation include:
Eat lots of fiber.
Drink plenty of fluids each day (at least 8 glasses of water per day).
Go to the bathroom when you have the urge. Don't wait.
