About a year ago I was diagnosed with CHF, put on Entresto, BP meds, meds for diabetes and Lasix. Lost a ton of weight and about six weeks after being diagnosed i had an echocardiogram and my RFwent from 30 to 55. I am a very low sodium diet and low carb diet. I am 51 year old female. My question is: is a flare up of CHF possible? How soon could my EF get low again? Thank you.
I'm sorry to say that CHF can pop back up at any time throughout your life. I am classified as being in an active state all the time. It is all dependent on were you were at the time you were diagnosed.
I suffered an AMI or massive heart attack, most people are said to be non-stemi or non-ischemic. I was ischemic meaning an irreversible and progressive condition. My EF went from 45% to the present EF of 30%. I now have heart seizures in which the heart can't maintain a sinus rhythm and only quivers. But how you live your life will determine the quality of life. They didn't give me 3 years and it will be 7 years come December the 2nd. I will see an Electrophysiologist on Friday to determine the best way to do an ICD. They're afraid I my not be able to regain my sinus rhythm at the rate they are happening. But all of these fears should be addressed by you to your cardiologist. Take care.
