... individual sprays at once. NO DIFFERNT THAN ONE :(. Who has found this helpful for breakthrough pain? I tried fentora and got more relief from that. Now thinking of going to Actiq... who has had success with Subsys and is anyone on Actiq?
Hi cupcake. I don't have any personal experience other than the patch & it mad me deathly ill, but have heard of other members who have had great help with actiq for their breakthru pain. Most were on the patch also for regular pain control & the actiq was prescribed basicaly for breakthru pain. This is alI I know, but maybe it will get others that have used it to answer too. Best wishes & Merry Christmas to you...
Hey cupcake, I'm so sorry you are going through this, especially at Christmas time. I, also have no experience with Actiq. My dr. wouldn't subscribe it. The only thing I tried was the Duragesic (fentanyl) patch. I was on a pretty high dose too. it seemed lke it would work at first, and then I would develop a tolerance and have to up the strength. But I couldn't keep those darn things on for the life of me. I'de tape those baby's up too. They didn't like me, so I had to get off of them. I just want to support you, and let you know I know the frusturation of it. I hope yo can find some kind of relief and happiness during Christmas. I'll say a little prayer you do. Love, Ruthie
Yes I use actiq and have for several years. It works well however my pain management doc wants me to try the subsys because it supposed works better and you don't have to have as high if dose . What does the subsystem taste like? The actiq has a sweet raspberry taste. The doc said the subsys doesn't require as much of a dose because you get the full medication where as with the actiq you end up swallowing most of it instead of it going straight into bloodstream. Also works extremely fast.
You said you have not gotten relief using it. What mcg? You might try using the actiq like i said I really like it and get relief with it just not enough for me. I have been taking the same 600 mcg dosage for Nine years now
