Lethargy, and neurological problems, I don't know if she will make it through this. The vet assistant at a Banfield in Petsmart said it would be okay to use. I took her to a vet today and they said to make her comfortable, no stress, and gave her an appetite stimulant. She is not eating, nor barely, or drinking. She can hardly walk either. I am so sad that i did this to my cat that i have had for so long.
hi grace,i know how you feel.this time last year my little one was in a terrible accident. we took him to the vet and he said he may not make it.for the next 4 weeks i would sit with him on the floor and put little bits of food on my fingers and he would sniff and lick a little of the food off my fingers.i even started singing to him while he tried to eat.i carried him to his box a couple times a day. all im saying is stay close to him/ her so they feel loved and safe.just being there he /she knows and feels safe. im sure your doing all you can.sometimes feeling you neer is the best medicine.good luck... pete.
Your baby, is going through a spell in it's life. If the kitty is not eating may I suggest Ensure vanilla. comes in a can. (they use this on Cancer patients) it is complete balanced nutrition. Give your kitty some in a syringe then chase it with water. At least the kitty will get some food. I have used this on cats and dogs when they do not want to eat.
I wish you all the best.
Just recently my aunt had to put her cat down she has had for 16yrs. which would make her like 90. She went to banfield as well turns out she had a tumor she had all those symptoms too. I dont know if that is the same situation but she felt instead of having her suffer and take all kinds of pain meds. she did what i felt was right i know its hard but banfield does also offer cremation so she can still be with you or put her in a final resting place. I know its hard to deal with but its definantly better than watching her suffer.Im very sorry GOOD LUCK.
