... Do I wait to start a new pack until I get my period? Last month my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex (November 3rd) he pulled out really fast while he was busting but I was scared he got some in me so 3 days later I went to planned parenthood where they gave me a plan b pill. The pill really didn't effect me and I had no side effects.I started taking the lutera birth control they gave me the next day (November 7th) it's December 1st and I'm currently on the 4th ""inactive" pink pill but I still have not started my period. Do I wait until my period comes to start a new pack? I'm also scared that the plan b possibly didn't work in the first place considering I've gained 4 pounds. Is it possible that I'm pregnant?
No. Once you start them you stick to the pill schedule no matter if you bleed or not. When you start on the pill it can alter your cycle and also plan b can mess up your cycle. I'm not sure if lutera has 7inactive pills but if so you still have 3 day's to go.
Your period can come anytime the week of inert "placebo" or "sugar" pills. You want to start your next pack when it is due to start whether or not you bled. You may not bleed this month because of the Plan b. That stuff can really wack out your cycle for a month or two. It would have been preferable for you to wait for your period to start birth control pills but it is too late to worry about that now. Once you start the Pill, you dont alter the schedule no matter what your body is doing. If you miss next months period (two consecutive periods in a row) you need to go back to Planned Parenthood and have them check you.
