... make Harvoni less effective. Dr said 20 mgs or less should be OK but if I'm able to come off of it then try to. Anyone else have this issue?
I am on my first day of Harvoni and taking 20 mgs of omeprazole for indigestion. I see that it can?
Added 5 May 2017:
To update, my Dr called me yesterday and said as long as I take the 20 mg Omeprazole with the Harvoni first thing in the morning on an empty stomach it will be fine. No more than 20 mgs however! Thanks to everyone who responded. Good luck to all.
Hammie329; Just as the other post says you must stay away from antacids and if you to have to take this omeprazole take it at least a few hours away from the Harvoni, Also make sure it is so important you drink lots of water while on this therapy. To help it work better and it helps with several of the side effects.
NOW IF YOU HAVE NOT YOU SHOULD GO TO THE TOP AND TYPE THE NAME OF THE MEDICATION IN THE SEARCH BAR AND HIT ENTER LOOK FOR THE SUPPORT GROUP. IT IS FREE TO JOIN AND LISTEN TO THE POSITIVE POST. Sorry, some people do get very bitter try and IGNORE THOSE POST. YOU MUST STAY POSITIVE AND MAKE SURE YOU MISS NO DOSES AND MAKE ALL YOU APPT. AND YOU WELL BE FINE. have a good day. Chuck1957
I also have been taking 20mg of omeprazole with my harvoni as your doctor ordered and mine as well take it in the morning with your omeprazole on an empty stomach and wait an hour before eating and everything should be fine my third week in I had labs done and my viral load went from 8 million two detectable but it was so long it was below their standards of measurement and that was only 3 weeks in I'm going on two months now haven't had any labs yet but feel confident that when it's all said and done I hopefully will be cured not to worry brother I think you'll be just fine do what the doctor ordered that's why they're Dr's good luck...
