I am now taking celexa with warfarin and metoprol . my celexa is not working very well so I need a change. what antidepressant would be a good try?
Hi Bim61 the best way to handle this is the doctor prescribing your medication when you go in to ask for a new medication make sure you tell them the drugs your on and also use the same pharmacy that is a fantastic way to catch any drug interactions it well pop up on the pharmacys screen,But anyway everytime you get a new rx remind the doctor what medications you taking there are plenty you can still take with those mediations but not knowing all symptoms the doctor is the only one that can really reserch this.CHUCK1957 retired pharmacy technician Cpht.
You could talk with your doctor about using Wellbutrin, Trazodone, or Remeron. You could also talk to your doctor or hematologist about switching to Arixtra, Lovenox, or Xarelto in lieu of Warfarin. SSRI and SNRI drugs are all going to have issues with Warfarin. There are issues with the metoprolol. You and your doctor will have to weigh the benefits and risks of each of the medications.
