My Psychiatrist just does not listen to my concerns. Im tired of talking, I've stop my medication cold turkey, Divalproex 500mg twice daily that I've been on for several years. I've been off of it for two months with no problems. I want to fine another Psychiatrist that listens and not throw medication at me..What suggestion can you help me with to fine the right Psychiatry Doctor and what to look for. Thanks!
My psychiatrist listens to me. He wants to know how I am feeling, side
effects to determine how I am adjusting to meds. Only then does he decide if I needed an increase or a change. I had a very hard time finding the
right meds that finally have helped me. He was very patient and listened to everything I said, including those things (in my life) that were causing me
problems. I also started seeing a therapist who has helped me a lot. If
you need a different psychiatrist contact your primary care physician and tell that doctor of your experience. They should have a suggestion. Good luck.
