My depression is getting bad. I'm unable to work due to an injury and 5 surgeries with a knee replacement scheduled for Aug 22. I'm afraid to take the meds cuz I've already put back on 40 lbs I had lost. Shrink says I "just need to adjust to life with disabilities".
Hi, grandma! First of all the use of antidepressants in Bipolar disorder is contra-indicated and generally not particularly effective. And any one one of them is likely to pack on the pounds.
Have you tried Latuda which is specifically for Bipolar depression and is considered one of the most weight neutral of the antipsychotics?
I too am on disabilty and although I've gained some weight I can't imagine ever living again without my mental health. Why bother?
Good luck with this and best wishes to you! Wildcat
