... been in the bed for about two weeks. I get up to shower and change my pajamas, but I don't have energy for much else. I have tried Lyrica, Lexapro, and other anti-depressants like wellbutrion, and I'm now on Sertraline for PTSD. I have no relief. I suffer from migraines too. I need some relief.
Well I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I can Totally relate to you as I when I have a Fibro Flare up so many times.
First off have you pp..ever tried a drug called Cymbalta ? I have found that this drug really helped. Also are you on any pain medications & if so which pain med to they have you on? Another simple thing you can do when you hurting Really bad I have found a warm barth with Epsom salt that you can buy at any pharmacy. Just sprinkle some epsom salt in the warm bath water & you will get some relief. But it sounds like) you should be seeing a Pain Management Specialist. Take care & I will send you a friend request if you have any questions just ask me, Take care, kathy
Sorry too hear its so bad right now, when mine got bad I just keep thinking it won't last forever... and it didn't. Defiantly not as long as yours is lasting :( have you spoken to your doctor about switching meds, I'm on Effexor & it does work really well on a fairly low dose (150mg). Not sure if this is comparable but I have insomnia and every few nights have to switch between meds or my body gets used to them and they stop working. I know with some fibro meds that are typically anti-depressants it probably isn't possible but maybe something that can be alternated? A lof of people have mentioned to me Savella has great results. I also tried Cymbalta and had great, quick results within 3 days, but it gave me bad headaches, I know you suffer with migraines. Are you able to do any stretching, lite exercise? I know youtube has some great exercises for energy & pain relief specific to fibro that have helped me in the past. Take care. Kim.
Lyrica never helped me or a lot of other people. If it's not helping you, then you should try another medication. Trazodone helps my fibromyalgia a great deal. It doesn't work for everyone as everyone is different.
Also if you're still struggling with depression, then you should try a different anti-depressant.
What daily preventative migraine medication are you taking? If one of the ones you are taking is supposed to work on that, it's also not working very well, so again, you need to try a different medication. Have you tried various ones?
There are other treatments for migraines, other than meds, but first need to hear whether you've taken various migraine meds. Then I can provide more help to you.
