... amitriptyline to help me sleep with my fibro pain on a night, i was wondering if anyone else takes these two drugs as a combination and if they have ever had any problems?
Hi, i take 20mg Amitriptyline also (have recently reduced from 50mg). I don't take Sertraline (Zoloft), but i take another SSRI antidepressant - Citalopram, which is very similar to Sertraline. Although they have a red flag warning about taking them together (risk of Seritonin syndrome), i've never had any problems, and i've been taking these together for about 4 years now. Are you experiencing any problems?
Hi, I too have fibromyalgia and on 50mg Amitriptyline at night for pain and anxiety.. I was also taking Citalopram for depression but started showing signs of Serotonin syndrome so was advised to wean off the Citalopram and take Ecitalopram but again showed signs of Serotoin syndrome, so then had to stop all antidepressants.. I don't want to worry you but Serotonin syndrome is a very serious illness.. Some signs to watch for are: sudden irritability, hot sweats and dilated eye pupils.. If you are at all worried please see your Doctor immediately!!!
I am on these medications at the same dosages that you are on. I haven't had any problems with them so far. Although when I stop taking sertraline (I did it once when I ran out for a couple of days), I have major panic attacks and become extremely anxious. I've become very reliant on them which is the only negative I have!
