Added 9 Sep 2010:
i know i should've talked to the rheumatologist today about the treatment aspects of it, but when i go to the dr's, my mind goes blank! its def a curse because im left clueless.......guess that's part of the fibro-fog???!!???
My Dear Melissa,
I am so touched deep down inside you were diagnosed with FM, my mother also suffers from FM, she is being treated by a rheumatologist, and takes lyrica. And at this moment her lyrica helps, of course she is in constant pain and always tired.
She feels weak, but has a positive mental attitude (PMA), and she finds strength from I do not know where and she beats the pain... she also suffers from MS, and the combination is , well what can I say , terrible, but still she is active and always doing things and keeping her mind on other aspects of life.-
If there is anything you need to know about FM, please go ahead and ask, I am not an expert, but I can help within my means. My mother knows so much about it and it is a terrible condition, I am being realistic, I am your friend and would never lie to you.-
My warmest regards,

My doctor was new in learning about Fibromyalgia so she put me on Celebrex. I have not had the major pain that others talk about because of this. Celebrex is usually prescribed for arthritis and is a Cox 2 Inhibitor. I injured my knee a few months ago and when they x-rayed it they told me that I have arthritis in it. I never felt a twinge.
My prescription says to take 2 capsules daily but I can take 1 and be pain-free. I'm not sure I would like the side-effects of Lyrica and am thankful that my insurance allows me to have the Celebrex.
Either one can treat Fibro. My Aunt was diagnosed 5yrs ago but not tested for any other cause.
I have sites I can tell you about so please contact me privately.
One thing that I have heard is very true is that with Fibro, the more you move, the better you will feel in the long run.
I was told that by my Aunt's doctor and even mine as with RSD, the more you move, the more you hurt but I refuse to stop knowing I will pay for anything I do in and with pain and that we are all so different.
I tried to post the sites earlier and it never appeared. I hope I can help guide you to some great medical articles and patient stories.
As with my own medical condition the best thing you can do is always educate yourself as a patient to know all your options and stay positive.
