... fingertips. It is symmetrical on both hands, either my pointer fingers or middle fingers. They get numb and turn white or get hot and numb. I've been under severe stress recently and wonder if it is related to that or if it is another fibro symptom. My health is good other than fibro (which is pretty bad lately), low blood pressure, decent blood test results, but the numbness and pain is uncomfortable and annoying. Anyone else have these symptoms? What do you do about it?
Hello my friend. I am having problems with my hands thus it has taken me a while to type this. The link provided by Bleu is very good. The cause of your secondary Raynaud's Phenomenon (UK term for condition) is your Fibromyalgia (FM) probably brought on because of the stress (has KM said). Your blood vessels R also being constructed by the fascia in your hand due 2 your FM; thus I think that you need something like myofascial pain release (a specialist type of massage undertaken by a specialist physical therapist to treat FM) or a deep massage of your hands. These treatments ‘loosen the fascia’ and should B undertaken every week. U may also benefit from increasing your FM drug until your fingers improve as the massage and your FM drugs go hand in hand as it were. Given that this happened on your current dose a slight increase maybe beneficial. Your low blood pressure needs addressing as this will not help matters.
With the right treatment (both drug and massage) it should improve. Raynaud's Phenomenon is common. The good thing in your case is that we know what is causing it and it is only affecting 4 out of your 10 digits – Good luck and take care
