x today? I've taken two Zanaflex, but the pain is so bad that I want to take Baclofen (and pray I don't yakk up my lunch!) tonight. Tried calling pharmacy, but they were too busy to take my call.
Any thoughts, opinions, guesses or shall we discuss politics and religion?
Thank you my friends,
sweet lemon

Dearest sweets,
Take the baclofen just be prepared to be sleepy, no driving and let's avoid politics and religion while we are at it. You won't be feeling much like carrying a train of thought anyway. Hope it helps and you don't ralph.
Laurie
Hey sweets,
I'm sorry to hear you're flaring up,but unfortunately i have no idea what to advise where those meds are concerned! I'm not much help, but just wanted to wish you well and hope you are feeling better soon
Hugs to you

NO!! DO NOT MIX MUSCLE RELAXERS!! I know and understand how desperate you are, but that is a BAD cocktail, really. Try taking a benzo if you have any, and laying down. Get off the computer, watch a stupid TV show. Hopefully you will fall asleep. Try a heating pad, cold pack. Unfortunately honey, sometimes there just isn't any meds that will help. I'm so sorry that you are feeling this badly. This too will pass.
I agree with you msfino. Good answer. Ruth
Hey Sweetie Lemon Pie,
I am no doctor but I don't think this would be a problem. Other than the fact that I wouldn't want you to yack up your lunch. *smile* I am sorry you are having such a painful flair. The reason I say I don't think it would be a problem about the muscle relaxers is my pm doc played musical muscle relaxers with me when they took their patients off Soma. They had me switching back and forth so often my head was spinning. Not to mention my poor belly. Anyway sweetie I just hope you get some relief. I'm sending love and prayers your way my friend.
Big huge hugs -Terri-
I see you are getting mixed reviews on what to do. The only thing I can say is that on at least two occasions my pm doc switched my muscle relaxers mid-day. After I had already taken a couple that day they would call in another and tell me to try that one. It never caused me problems just none of them worked as well as the good ole Soma *sigh*. Good luck Sweetie Sweets.
Much love -Terri-
Hi Terri, I've some info that Rajive posted about Soma, so I will quote him now...
On December 12, 2011 The DEA issued the final ruling placing Soma into schedule IV of the Controlled Substance Act, this was effective January 11, 2012. (Rajive posted this, as I said)
Hope all of you can get Soma as I know so many of you find relief from it.

Hey sweetie, gosh I hope you feel better,do what you think is best, you are an educated women on many subjects including this!love you,c.
Hi friends, thank you all for the answers! You guys are just the cat's pajamas and the bee's knees!! (Guess who used to say those things!)
I got ahold of my pharmacist, finally and he said go ahead and take it, that it wouldn't hurt, but I may yak up my dinner.
I give in, no political talk, nor religion... as Laurie said, not feeling too sharp at the moment, to say the least. But I haven't lost my sense of humour yet, so things aren't dire, just a bit fibro-foggy and quite painful... it could be worse though!!
xoxo

You really never did say if you were a good cook or not??? Gulp!
Hi Sweet Lemon, sorry your not feeling that great today. I have been a bit slow in answering, but it looks like you got your answer now. Hope your pain gets better quick for you, I have Fibromyalgia too, and it can be very painful. Take Care Liz.
Dear sweet lemon,
At first I didn't realize it was you sweetie asking the question. I have Fibromyalgia too. I know how miserable it is. The pain can be soo bad honey. I feel so bad for you. I hope and pray you will get to feeling better soon. I don't want you to make yourself sick though. You know how to get ahold of me if you need to talk. I'm here for you honey, if you need me. I will say extra prayer's for you, and I do pray you will feel better soon sweets. God Bless. Love Ruthie
Hi Sweetie lemon pie,
My Doc told me I can't take both Flexeril and Baclofen. Although he may have meant at the same time. I think if you mix too many muscle relaxers too close together you can start to loose control of your voluntary muscles. Such as your leg muscles and you can fall down. I guess I'd say no. Sorry.
Thank you Thor, I waited about six hours in between taking Baclofen after I took Zanaflex. I would never put myself in any jeopardy by mixing two different MR's at the same time, that would be akin to a suicide wish!
I did take the baclofen and I felt SOOO much better and kept my dinner down. Baclofen was a miracle med for this Irish gurl, and I miss it! The pain relief I had was noticed by all my friends and family when I was taking it every day, but had to stop because of the lovely barfing business.
I am going back on it (baclofen) but at a reduced dose, we shall see what happens. 'Tis a damned shame when one finds a med that works great but the side effects are too much to bare!! My doc prescribed Zofran to counteract the side effect, but I still used to barf!!

Okay... firstly... I am a healthcare provider and, lucky me, have trigeminal neuralgia that is getting progressively worse along with some unknown muscle spasm disorder that affects my muscles from head to toe. So, I have been taking flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for the last year and a half to keep the spasms at bay.
My thoughts on Baclofen and using other muscle relaxants... I have tried the cyclobenzaprine on top of the baclofen (dose was 10mg for each) with good relief from the nerve pain plaguing the right side of my face. I suffered no increase in side effects when I took them at that dosage (keep in mind that I have been on the cyclo for a LONG time. )
Hi Sweets Been a while since I been here, Im thinking and me thinking??? hum... well Benzos are sleepers right, so are zanaflex isnt it with flexarel in it? correct me if im wrong please, and u want to take baclofen. well i would wait the few hours till med kick off is over then take, is in the same class and though not common practice to pop the two together for the most part, however if u do better during rough times then i say get up that day with a baclofen. I mean they give kicker opiates for break threw pain. well not my doctors but i have heard of it. Yeah a real rough time for alot of us fibro babies, i havent had a normal day in 2 weeks cant sit stand or lay. dishes all over the man works and does house and its driving me crazy... im not a quitter but i feel like a quitter this week... and its only just begun, with me is up before done... gawd... who gave us this crap... get better and dont practice the two often, i see here is not good for you... much respect... lori
Hi lori,
If you are asking if zanaflex is Xanax mixed with flexeril (?) it is not. Zanaflex is a muscle relaxer on it's own. Unless of course I've been horribly misinformed and read the pharm print out wrong!!

Well, I guess I'm the only one left who hasn't answered you & that's because I've haven't been on the computer for a couple of days! I know you have a lot of stress right now that certainly will exerbate the pain of fibro girl, you know that. As to whether to take both I wouldn't with your tossing your dinner episodes on baclofen, but since I'm so late answering , you have probably already taken it & are fast asleep! Just wanted to let my Sis know I haven't forgotten you. My fibro has been bad too, but been so busy had to ignore it! Taint easy either! I just take my oxy & a flexeril together & it gets me by. Will talk to you in the morning. Love... Mary
Poor Mary, you had to hear all about my ralphing episodes whilst on baclofen, I don't imagine you want me taking it again, or you may get those oh so icky emails of the past!! Not to worry my friend, I promise, no more emails about barfing up my dindin!!!
Love,
Lara
i would just b careful how much u take of both. i feel 4 u as i to have fibro and mine is acting up alot lately, in (R) leg really bad, ive got muscle spasms as i type this and i know the feeling so with that im off of here. hope u feel better soon. take care.
Ahhhh sweet lemming! Mixing relaxors is part of the fun. Finding that relaxing cocktail that werx for each is part of the fun. My pain doc prescribed me 5 different ones, including the two you speak of. My favorite combo if you must know? 2 Bac, 1 Tizadine, 2 Methocarbinols. Keep in mind that I am huge and have muscular density of a greek god.
KW, playing nice with others, not running with scissors either!!
I wasn't trying to get high, just out of some horrible muscle spasms.
Have you ever taken Baclofen regularly? If so, did you have any side effects?
Thanks,
Lara
I took some last night. Doctor gave them to me for a sleepy relaxor.I have been taking them more often lately in attempts to get some sleep. I only feel them mildly. The Tizadine (Zanaflex) seems to give me the best muscle relaxing results. No upset tummy from them or any ill side effects here.
