... helps both Fibro as well as insomnia?
I take Cymbalta for Fibro and it does help the pain. I only take 20 mg. as I'm sensitive to meds. Be aware that going off of Cymbalta can cause some pretty bad withdrawal symptoms so consider it carefully. Trazodone helps with sleep which is why it can be helpful for Fibromyalgia.
I have, and I took Cymbalta for years. I discontinued it because it wasn't fulfilling my needs for antidepressant properties (ugh - and the weight gain - 68 pounds!) Came right off when I stopped it. I also am a severe chronic pain sufferer, and I guess it helped, but I wasn't like ooo wow. Savella, now that drug-like day 3 I literally called the DR in tears to tell him he's a genius and how thankful I felt. I wasn't even on much of a dose, and already felt it changing my life-been on it ever since. Tried stopping it 3 months ago just cause I'm on SO many scripts, and the pain came raging back. So I'm like a broken record about it. I hear people say Trazodone for insomnia so often, it seems to be the way to go these days!
Hi melissa, I was on cymbalta for several years, and it did work for the fibromyalgia and depression. The docs try that alot now for both, just be aware if you have any non typical side effects.I had to be taken off,as I developed cataracts quickly,it is rare but can happen.Good luck to you! Kat
