Had various test, etc. and this is going on for 2 months. Been so sick, haven't been able to do much. I lost my health insurance,so I am at the mercy of a free clinic. I am in such pain, and they only will prescribe tramadol, which does not help. My quality of life is suffering, and if it means dipping into my life savings,to find out the problem, and get some relief from this pain, then I will. To me,it is almost like saying(if you are unemployed) you don't deserve to have your pain addressed or you are an addict). Thanks for letting me rant.Take care.
Hey there, sweets...
You didn't mention if you were working or not and that is why you may have lost your insurance. No matter so let's see what we can do to help get you some answers. There are doctors who see patients on a sliding scale. Is this a possibility for you instead of the free clinic??? I am asking this one because you mentioned going into your savings... so, if you can get to see a doctor and pay upfront wouldn't this also be an option??? This would only be once each month and some doctors will even stretch it out and give you scripts for mail order meds.
I have a cousin with this condition and the best they could do for her because she didn't want any medication (go figure on that one) was to do things like:
aqua therapy (very gentle and totally relaxing - no swimming, water walking and hanging with those "noodle" things) which I also do but don't have fibro
therapeutic body massage
These things have helped her and she is on her feet a lot! She's a teacher...
So, have you thought about applying for SSDI??? Just asking because that would get you insurance and open up your options a whole lot more.
Also, when it becomes a financial issue... there are manufacturers who will give free meds. Just a thought here and sorry for throwing so much stuff out there... just not sure which direction to go to best support you yet...
I hope you will post more about this and see how we can best help you gain some peace and calm in your life.
Blessings and Hugs,
Dear SweetSusan, are you by chance on the films instead of the tablets, I have noticed more people complaining about aches, pain and swelling who were on the films as opposed to the tablets. Another option would be subutex, in case it is the naloxone in the suboxone, subutex is still buprenorphine, but no naloxone wnd it does have a much cheaper generic. Hope this helps and you get some relief ASAP. Patti
It sounds to me like you could use a couple of trigger point injections in the abdomen. I have had this done & it feels wonderful (after the initail stick!) I have had it done twice. There is a trigger point of each side of the lower abdomen & it hurts terribly. I was shocked when my new gastro doc gave me the trigger point injections there, but it worked! Just my thoughts...
