Hi, studies have been conducted in to the possibility of excess iron in the body causing an increase of free-radicals generating capacity in faeces, which could lead to the production of carcinogens. So taking Ferrous Sulphate could indirectly contribute to the development of cancer. It isn't common though, and most people will be unaffected.
