My iron is <11. How serious is this?
Hello Jtr0324, yes a low level of iron in is a sign of anemia. It means you are making fewer and fewer red blood cells which in turn less hemoglobin which assists in the oxygen intake in your body. There could be many reasons for this but only specific tests can tell you what's happening. It is very important to carry the right amount of iron in your system. For men it should be at least 13.5 and for women 12.3. I would have this checked out as soon as you can.
