... it's placed it comes off within 10 hours. My doctor gave me some tape to put on two sides of the patch and I've done that and it's still coming off. If it's not really touching my skin am I going to get the drug into my system? They are wrinkling up on me! Help!
Fentanyl - I can't get the patches to stick. I've tried my arms, back and chest and no matter where?

When I took my shower I wondered if the water was washing the medication right off of it because it wasn't stuck right to my skin.
Tell the prescribing physician the tape didn't work and you need help making them stick. He/she will figure it out, if they're not snug you won't get the med correctly. Hope this helps.
It could be your soap- lots of them have oil in them. Don't use any lotion either. Also if you have hand lotion on or put stuff on your face, that could cause sticking problems. If your skin is oily, rubbing with rubbing alcohol would cleanse your skin and might help the patches to stick better. The oil that keeps the patches from sticking, would keep you from absorbing the med. I hope that this helps you. I was told by the pharmacist that there might be problems with the patches sticking, but I have dry skin, don't use lotion- and they've been sticking on me and working just fine.
HA! I went through this for a couple of months... Put them on your BUTT!!! I could not get them to stick anywhere else! I asked the pharmacist about it, he said that it should be fine. Plus, when your laying down on the patch, it really makes them stick. I can now shower with one on without a problem...
Do not use alcohol to clean skin under the patch, it will cause it NOT to stick. Only wipe the skin with warm water and dry really well. Go to walgreens or whatever drug store u hv and buy Tegaderm patches. I worked in health care and there is nothing better. Its like a second skin. Simply put them over fentanyl patch. Make sure when u put it on over patch, bfore u peal off top layer, that u rub over it really well to get it placed snug. I not only used them in healthcare, I use them myself over fentanyl patches. Works like a charm! Nothing better out there! Good luck!
