18 months usage, properly backed off with the cooperation of the prescribing physician could take as long as 6-months, and at that, with a transition to something less potent over the final 3-5 weeks. Work with your Dr. on the "want to stop" and you'll be on your way. Otherwise, immense grief awaits as this stuff is potent and nasty if you mess with it in terms of stopping on your own.
