My other has pudendal nerve impingement; she actually had surgery 18 months ago but apparently that hasn't worked. She is on hydrocodone, which she is becoming resistant to, and she also has COPD. She's at her wits end.
The nerve pressure I had was better treated with Lyrica. I was on the Fentanyl patch for a year and a half. 150mcg/hr. I am now in my forth day of withdrawals. Getting off this med was much worse than any pain I have ever endured. If your other can get past the pain I would recommend she stay away from the Patch. If she does need it it is only meant for short term. Maybe a month at the most. The switch back to a less addictive drug for a couple of months and then try the Patch again. Keep repeating this so the addiction won't be so bad. I was literally in the bowels of hell. I wanted to end it all.. Look up withdrawal side affects for Fentanyl Patch. Good Luck
