I had to replace my patch on a red eye flight Thursday night and I was in my seat reaching up under my shirt and ended up putting the patch, instead of higher up on my chest, actually on the ample adipose tissue on one breast. The thing is, yesterday and today I feel a little withdrawal achy, surprising and not what I am use to. I am wondering if all the fat tissue of the breast is keeping it from distributing correctly. I will of course put my new one higher tonight but I would like to hear from any of you with knowledge or experience about how the patch works on different tissues of the body.
Yes I used the patch for a year or so and definitely noticed a difference on where it was placed. On my belly where I have an ample amount of fat tissue it was slower to absorb. I preferred those places when I knew I had to go outside during the day for extended periods of time 30 minutes or more. Staying indoors which was what usually did because of difficulty in walking I put it just below my collar bone. Be careful when replacing the patch I came close to overdosing because it would fall off and I wouldn't notice it untill later and would put a new one on. The skin absorbs it like a sponge and even though the patch may not be there you are still receiving medication from what is still left in your skin. If i am half way or more through the three day period I would just wait untill the three day period is up untill I put another patch on. Please be careful with this medication but once you have the rhythym down it works very well. Hope you feel better Bertram
I see you went to the 48 hr. deal like I did. I think it makes a huge difference! I use my patches on the flank area, because I am an outdoors fanatic! LoL. My husband and I go fishing every chance we get, so I am in the sun more than most. The flank area is the only place I can wear my patch and not worry about overheating and overdose. I am not by any means skinny, but they work well for me there. I used the upper arm originally, and they were too exposed to the sun there. The chest is ok, but if you are swimming, or wearing a tank top or whatever, they are exposed to the sun too much. I really like the flank area personally, but everyone is different. I can't tell a difference with absorption there vs. anywhere else. I hope this helps you... I think I recommended the flank area to you before, maybe. Anyway, good luck!
