Really ill he stopped it he has given me a beta blocker for 1 month 80mg slow release and told me to take citalopram after 7 days I'm afraid to take anything at the moment as I feel so ill my anxiety is dreadful and I'm afraid to leave the house have anyone else been medicated like this
The beta blocker will help with your anxiety symptoms. I also could not take Prozac. The Lexapro is a good antidepressant for anxiety and you should not be afraid to try it. I take it and it has helped my anxiety. You may also be feeling some withdrawal symptoms from the Prozac. Many of us have gotten gun shy from the side effects of meds. But it may be worth it if it works for you.
Hang in there :)
Beta Blockers are commonly given to control physical symptoms of anxiety but don’t help psychological symptoms but the Celexa can help these symptoms. I hate to give advice like this but being afraid to leave your house might require more than Celexa but I know its the norm to start with SSRI's then work up if relief doesn’t come. Its way more likely that that Celexa will either help your anxiety or not help at all than causing your anxiety to become worse. I will say this, if your afraid of leaving your house you need a specialist because Family care or Internal medicine physicians aren’t trained to treat that, its a major symptom
sorry you are going through this, i have never tried prozac but i am on lexapro "escitalopram" which is a little stronger than citalopram, it may b better for you as it sounds you have major anxiety(same as me) ..i also had phobia of leaving the house and pretty much everything in general(showering, making a drink, cleaning) my anxiety was so constant & bad i wanted to die & i didnt eat for a week and half and didnt sleep for 4days. dizzy, hallucinating & diiareah.. list goes on. my point is..if lexapro has helped me get over THAT.. im sure it will atleast touch the sides for you! it is my miracle drug! i can sleep, eat and live again(still room for improvement) but im on the road to recovery. u are not alone, i went through what you are feeling.. its terrifying.. but be persistent and hold on! the light is just around the corner i promise you.. u will find the right medication in no time
