Hello birdy59. I have been taking DAPAGLIFLOZIN (Farxiga) since May 2015 and I have lost 2 stone in weight, my HBA1C has come down from 82 to 62 - the Hospital Diabetic Consultant is so pleased and I am. Regards, William.
Farxiga works by making you pee sugar when your blood glucose gets high. It should cause weight loss and that's probably one of the reasons your doctor prescribed it for you.
The main drawbacks would be dry mouth and urinary infections- all that sugar is food for yeasts. You should be able to avoid those or treat them easily but be on the lookout. Otherwise, enjoy the easy weight loss
