It has been going on for over a week now. Went to the er they said they don't know and referred me to ophthalmologist. I wake up and my eyes hurt really bad. I also have a migraine. Then I will get sick and vomit. It tends to last about an hour or so then the eye pain and head ache will subside throughout the day. And then they slowly come back at night but never reach the intensity as the morning. I want to know what is wrong with me?please!
Don't want to alarm you but you need to see a neurologist. You may have inner cranial pressure causing your eyes to hurt and migraines. Hope this helps. Can't believe the er didn't do a ct scan.
Any sinus congestion? Bad sinus headaches can cause migraine like pain and nausea and vomiting and the sinus pressure may be affecting your eyes. Sinus pressure is often worst in the morning after laying down all night. It doesnt drain and causes more pressure. See if they can do a sinus scan
Sensitivity to light and nausea with or without vomiting go along with most migraines, but that pattern and frequency are cause for concern.
Personally, I think I would want a second opinion before I let someone mess with my spine. An MRI or vascular study might give some answers. Remember, you have the right to ask anything you want. There are no dumb questions.
Did the ER doctor mention viral meningitis or encephalitis when he admitted you? Since they want(ed) to do a lumbar puncture so early on, I wonder if they are suspecting one of those conditions. I didn't really understand whether you had the LP already or not, or if the LP showed increased white blood count. I'm glad you were admitted to the hospital so they can test more extensively to find out the cause of your headaches. Please keep us posted. Feel better soon!
What was the outcome? I get thks frequently too. Ive been suspecting sleep apnea myself
