Struggling every day with severe/chronic dry eyes. I'm looking for some support as many of my friends do not understand what I am going through. I am very anxious every day and cannot think straight. I feel dizzy and light headed. I would really like to talk with some of you who maybe had this experience and of it will get better. Thank you and I look forward to talking with you :)
Eye dryness and redness can be a permanent side effect of Lasik surgery.
Having said that, yes, it should get better IF you keep your eye doctor aware of your continuing condition. I had Lasik in 1999 and had dry eyes back then. After several trips to the eye doctor and many drops and ointments later, my eyes became better. Now in 2015 I have come full circle and have dry red eyes all the time. It is best not to sleep under a fan, treat allergies with medications, and carry eye drops with you to keep those eyes wet and lubricated. I know how this is. See your doctor!
I just saw my optometrist for this exact reason. Dry eyes due to my many medications.
She told me to put Systane Balance drops in my eyes when needed throughout the day and apple 2 drops of Systane eye Gel just before bed. Both products are on store shelf. No need for a prescription. I have had great results.
