I've been taking escitalopram 15 mg for anxiety and depression for some months. It has helped but not completely. My doctor wants to add 10 mg doxepin and 3 mg melatonin for max benefit as a combination treatment. Any experinces of such treatment would be appreciated. I don't think I suffer from sleep problems but my dr thinks I should go to bed earlier, which is true. I don't think I need meds for this though.
Here's what I see wrong with it for me at least. That's 2 more meds I have to pay for each month. One isn't even going to be paid by insurance. Why doesn't he take you up to 20 of the escitalopram? I do take a tca and Melatonin with another antidepressants and have for many yrs but the tca and Melatonin are for sleep.
