I am diabetic, my infection came cause my numbers are out of control so if anyone else is having issues check ur blood drinking water and lots of it is a sign/
Yes, infection can cause a diabetic to have suddenly very high blood sugars for no apparent reason. If you are diabetic and your numbers jump without a change in diet, then infection is a suspect. High blood glucose levels can also cause thirst and frequent urination. As far as your eye? Is that where your infection is?
Hello Ladydarts. What medicine are you using in your eye? It is important to let the doctor know the drops are hurting. Call the pharmacy to be sure you are taking it right and the dose was written right. Eye infections can hurt like crazy. You may be at the worse part right now. Better recheck.
Control your sugars with medication changes. Call the doctor and be sure to test frequently until you get it figured out. We had a cousin who used to binge eat and ignore the diabetes. She died before she turned fifty. Too high of a price to pay. I have Type II diabetes because of medication. I get it. I don't want it to take me out. I am sure you will make the change. This is a wakeup call. How fortunate for you. Infections are slow to heal with high blood sugars. Complications can be terrible. Take care, Karen
