Hi, I have been on Zoloft for over 8 weeks - 200mg for about 2 weeks. I noticed a mild improvement last week, but then I had a panic attack on Monday and have been down ever since. I was on Celexa about ten years ago and it made me feel great. I asked by pdoc if he can switch me to that, and he said he wants to give it another week.
My question is whether anyone else has not felt better on Zoloft and then switched to Celexa and felt better?
The Zoloft helped my anxiety but I could not take the side effects and did not help depression. It was suggested I try Celexa but have not done so, as I am sooo med sensitive.
I would stay with it like your doc said another week. Do you have anything to take for break thru panic attacks? Usually 8 weeks is enought time for it to work. It seems that when ever there is a dose change you can get increase side effects for a short period. Why did he increase your dose?
I feel for you as when the anxiety/panic starts for me I get depressed and it is a terrible cycle. If one med does not work there are lots of others to try. We are all different in how we react to meds.
My thoughts are with you.
thanks for your response.I would love to hear from someone who did not respond to Zoloft but did respond to Celexa?
I enjoyed my combination if celexa 20mg and xanax 5mg daily! Best i ever felt!
