My thyroid and iron levels are fine. Only thing is I am 51 days sober from alcohol abuse (it was severe), could this be a factor? All the caffeine in the world isn't helping either...
Congratulations on your 51 days sober!! I believe the changes that you are going through could well explain your exhaustion. It takes time to adjust to a new way of life, developing better coping skills, and not depending on the alcohol. This is hard work so give yourself time to recover and I hope you are in a good recovery program.
Hi, yes it is to be expected, your body and mind are still recovering and healing. I am guessing you are sleeping naturally now? You need to catch up with your natural REM sleep rhythm. Try NOT to drink too much coffee, because in between drinks you will 'crash', and feel the need to drink more and more to stay awake. It is better to have maybe a couple of coffees in the morning and then drink water throughout the day, it doesn't have to be just tap water, but sparkling flavoured water for example. Eating little and often, healthy food, will also help you feel awake, and exercise is also really good at this stage. Be kind to yourself and take things easy. Congratulations btw!! I know how hard it is!
