I usually lose 5 lbs right after my menses and then maybe even a few extra, but then come menses all over again and I re-gain the 5 I lost the month prior. It's like the bunny hopp, and highly frustrating. What's a girl to do???
That 5 pounds is water. That's why it comes and goes so fast. They say if you cut 100 calories a day you'll loose 10 pounds a year. Try cutting a little from your diet and maybe increase the exercise a few min. Loosing 2 pounds a month is a good way to do it, you keep it off better if you loose it slowly.
Yep, it is just retained water weight, not body fat. This is very normal at "that time of the month" One of the best ways to prevent this gain is to avoid salt and salty foods especially before your period. This is a pretty natural process and trying to beat it may drive you crazy! It is just water weight, not fat so dont concern yourself over it. Most women are resigned to the fact that they will have a bit of bloating at period time.
