Has anyone seen improvement when taking Exalgo with their small fiber neuropathy? I have full body neuropathy and was wondering if anyone out there does and takes this medication for relief from this horrible pain.
I have recently added Topamax to my Exalgo, which I have been on for 2 years and I am beginning to notice positive results with my neuropathy in my legs and feet. I've previously tried gabapentin, lyrica, gabitril and Neurontin with no response. This is my experience so I'm just passing it on.
Have you tried a Trial of a Spinal Cord Stimulator? I know you would need two to cover the entire body, and that has been done. I have one for the neuropathy in my legs and it has helped about 30%. My doctor considers this a failure and while I had hoped for much better, I am very grateful to have the burning along the fronts of my calves relieved! I was unable to have a trial period due to the severity of arthritis in my spine - the leads could not be inserted in a procedure setting, it had to be done by removing bone. So I had a trial basically on the operating room table. Not ideal! But most people have a several day trial, done in a procedure, so you will know if it can help you. It's worth a try - some people get 80% relief. Can you even imagine? I did have moderate success with Lyrica and continue to take it. I hope you find relief - EJ23
