... endep 25mg. I want to get better ASAP but as having this disorder I am too scared to take the meds, was wondering if anyone could help or share any views on this
I know just what you mean! I had panic attacks (still do once in a while) and I was terrified to try a med, for fear that it would make it worse.
It made thing SO much better after I took it! I've not heard of endep, but give it a try if your doc thinks it will work.
Panic attacks can be so crippling! Take the med, plan to stay home and be with a loved one or a friend, so you can be monitored. Just to be on the safe side. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Please, come back and let me know how it went, after you take your meds?
I'd like to know how the medication worked for you.
This med has been around for a long time. Many many of us take amitriptyline, safely. 25mg is a very small dose. Its worth a try, to stop the panic attacks. At first you will feel groggy, but those side effects stop once you're used to the med. Remember that the list of side effects has to list anything that's been reported and there is nothing that says you'll have any of them.
Just as MacIntosh (Lara) stated you are not alone. Anxiety and panic attacks are very dibilitating at times, horrible. I have suffered from them most of my life. I totally understand being scared of taking a new med, but just give it a try it may be your answer to feeling better. It made me very tired is why I stopped taking it, but everyone is different, you may not get as tired as I did. It may take up to 4 weeks before endep (amitriptyline) gets in your system fully; however, you will probably feel better much sooner, so please don't stop taking it for that reason, jst be patient (easier said than done, I know!)
It would be a good idea to have someone you trust to be with you when you take it to make you feel safe, I know it helped me, due to me being scared from the panic and taking a new med I was afraid to be alone.
I am with high hopes you are feeling better soon. Please come back and let us know how you're doing... we care.
Hi ambz, I have suffered from anxiety and panic for years and have had some periods of a lot less anxiety and no panic, when I finally got on meds which took years b/c I was afraid of the meds. I'm new here so keep that in mind with my answers ;) anyway when my anxiety is really bad yes I get dizzy and a weird feeling in my head ( ok gonna try to explain ) its like my thoughts are going back in my head and like I'm dizzy in the back of my head and I might go crazy, well IDK it is so hard to explain. But I've never went crazy and finding the right meds helps, I suffered way too long without meds. Anyway hope that helps some, this is a great way to get support. Take care Linda
