my prescription. My own dispensary rarely has a supply and then it is a matter of visiting various outlets until I can have my prescription activated. This month local pharmacies in my area did not have any and Boots only had a few which necessitated my travelling back into town, a trip of 12 miles, to complete my prescription. This situation has been continuing for over a year. Is there a problem with the supply chain for this drug?
I had this problem too a few months ago. My GP contacted my consultant, who said there was no reason why the pharmacies couldn't get hold of it as it was still readily available. In the end, it turned out that my local pharmacy could get the 50mcg but not the 100mcg for some reason and so it has been ever since. Since then I haven't had any problems (touch wood) but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the issue doesn't raise its head again at some point in the future. It's a bit of a worrying situation when you have to take Flecainide and can't get hold of it, and it seems that there isn't an alternative medication :(
